There are many promotions that come out that are not necessarily a good deal for the traveler. This is one that is a great deal! Here is an opportunity to get 7,500 JetBlue points for joining TrueBlue, JetBlue’s frequent flyer program.
Overview of TrueBlue
JetBlue’s awards program is a revenue based program. This is in contrast to a zone based program that most of the US carriers use (Southwest/Airtran and Virgin America also use revenue based programs). This means that the amount of points required for the ticket is tied to the cost of the ticket. This is not a bad thing as it means there is never black out dates! Also, you can find very low award tickets based on sales that go on.

7,500 JetBlue Points for Joining TrueBlue
I always say that everyone should join every loyalty program they can take advantage of the different programs and earn as many miles and points in as many different ways as possible. You never know when you might have need for these miles that would otherwise just disappear! It makes it even easier to join a program when they offer a program like this. With 7,500 JetBlue points, you have almost enough for a starting round-trip award (something like Rochester – JFK). For free, that is not bad! Here is what you need to do to earn those 7,500 points:
- You must enroll in the program here
- Book a round-trip flight
- Travel on said flight before June 19, 2013
So, you do need to purchase and fly a flight before you get this bonus, but let’s take a moment to see how this would work. For me to purchase a JetBlue ticket from Rochester to JFK is just a little over $100. That means the base fare is $100. If I book that ticket (after enrolling in the program) for travel before June 19, I will receive 600 TrueBlue points for booking with JetBlue and the additional 7,500 points after travel is concluded.
Is this a good deal? Absolutely! I find JetBlue to be the most comfortable of all coach class domestic seats. There on-board amenities are excellent (satellite TV on 
demand, good drink selection, comfortable seats, good snacks, etc.). There fares are normally competitive with what you would find from other airlines, so you if plan on flying before June 19th, consider using JetBlue for your carrier so that you can earn some free points.

If you would like to earn even more points, you can sign up for an American Express Membership Reward card that will give you Membership Reward points that transfer to JetBlue at a ratio of 200 TrueBlue points for 250 Membership Reward points. I do not consider this to be the best transfer available within Membership Rewards but if you need to top off your account, this is a good option.
