Decreased Spending Requirement for Chase Ink Cards

The Chase Ink cards are the business cards from Chase. The really good ones – Chase Ink Bold and Chase Ink Plus – offer 50,000 Ultimate Reward points after spending a certain amount in 3 months. The offer used to be 25,000 points after first purchase and the additional 25,000 after spending $10,000 in 3 months. Even for some small businesses, that could be quite a stretch.

Lower spending requirement for Chase Ink cards

This week, Chase lowered the required spend to $5,000 in 3 months bring it a low more into the realistic category. This is a great deal and one that you should take advantage of since it is not know for how long this offer will be. I currently have the Chase Ink Bold (the charge card product) but will look to add the Chase Ink Plus (the credit card product) during this decreased spending promo. If you have one of those cards, you can definitely get the other and still get the bonus. For most people, if asked, the primary reason to have each is based on the fact that they are different products – one is a charge card which does not let you carry a balance and the other is a credit card which will allow you to carry a balance.

  • Yes, you do need to call the companies and cacnel them. They won’t actually be cacnelled until you completely pay them off though. If you have quite a few cards though, don’t cacnel them all at once. If you do, it screws up your credit rating. You should only cacnel one card every 1-2 months.

    • Actually, the best thing to do is to either try to convert the card to a card with no fee or, if you are going to cancel it, transfer the credit line on that card over to another card first. You are right, though, it is better to not cancel many at once.
